UDGLA HEADQUARTERS

The UDGLA headquarters functions as a point of linkage and representation, managed under the CASE model, ensuring an operation aligned with best practices and a user-centric approach.

This university space is located in the Herald Examiner Building, a historic landmark in Los Angeles, in a strategic location in the city. For its operation, the space was designed and conditioned in order to offer the academic and cultural services of the University of Guadalajara in an appropriate environment.

Among the activities carried out at this headquarters are conferences, workshops, audiovisual screenings, book presentations and conversation clubs in Spanish. The space is accessible to the general public and encourages inclusion and cultural exchange, becoming a meeting point for the local community and students.

Vocation and administration of the headquarters


The venue has a ground floor and mezzanine covering a total of 420 square meters (4525.80 sq. ft), with multipurpose spaces for a variety of academic and cultural activities.

  • Entrance Hallway: Direct access to the building, with shelves for the display of a diverse selection of books.
  • Reception: First point of contact, accessible from the main entrance on the street.
  • Main lobby: Space where conferences, talks and book presentations are held.
  • Ambivalent area and agora: Equipped with furniture and technology for film projections, and flexible for other types of activities.
  • Multimodal classroom and self-access center: Flexible space with computers and tables, designed for hybrid classes, and which can also host activities such as conversation clubs.
  • Entrance ramp on the upper floor: With walls intended to exhibit paintings, photographs, posters and pieces of art.
  • Service area: Intended for cafeteria services.
  • Multifunctional cubicle: Space for private meetings, equipped with a high-quality video conferencing system.
  • Coworking space: An area set up for collaborative work by teams.
  • Meeting Room: Space designed for business meetings, equipped with a videoconferencing system.
